Recessed Lighting Installation
Recessed lighting installation planned around how each room is actually used, not just where wiring happens to be easiest. We also install interior light fixtures and chandeliers in homes across our New Jersey service area.

Overview
Recessed Lighting, Fixtures & Chandeliers
Recessed lighting can be added to rooms that currently have no ceiling lighting, installed as part of a new layout, retrofitted into an existing ceiling, or planned alongside fixtures you already have.
Every layout starts with the room itself: how it's used, where light is currently missing, and what the ceiling allows for. Fixture count, size, and spacing come out of that, rather than a standard grid applied to every room.
Along with recessed lighting, we install interior light fixtures and chandeliers, either on their own or planned together with a new recessed layout.
Why Recessed Lighting
Homeowner Benefits
Cleaner Ceiling Line
Recessed fixtures sit flush with the ceiling instead of hanging below it, which keeps the room's lines uninterrupted.
Flexible Placement
Fixtures can be positioned to light specific areas of a room — a reading corner, an island, artwork — rather than one central point.
Works with Dimming
Recessed lighting pairs well with dimmers, giving a room a different feel for daily use versus entertaining.
Highlights Architecture
Placement can be planned to draw attention to a vaulted, cove, or coffered ceiling instead of competing with it.

Common Scenarios
Ceiling & Room Types
Ceiling shape changes how a recessed lighting layout is planned. A few examples from real projects:

Vaulted & High Ceilings
Sloped and high ceilings change how fixtures need to be placed and angled so light reaches the whole room evenly, not just the areas directly below each can.

Cove Ceilings
A cove ceiling's recessed edge is a natural fit for lighting that washes the ceiling plane without a visible fixture line.

Coffered Ceilings
Coffered ceilings add depth and framing that recessed lighting can be planned around rather than working against.

Pairing with a Chandelier or Ceiling Fan
Recessed lighting doesn't have to replace an existing chandelier or ceiling fan — the two can be planned together for even coverage and layered dimming.

Customer Reviews
Reviews from Art Power customers that mention recessed lighting.
“Father and son duo did an excellent job at recessed lights installation. There is no dust or any kind of mess in the house. No extra holes even when there was no open access like attic to run the wire. Price was also very reasonable, a couple of other people gave a price alot more than this and mentioned they will leave ceiling open to run wire and I have to hire someone else to close and patch, paint it. I would definitely recommend them to FnF whoever needs electric work done at their home or work.”
“Spase did an amazing job with the installation of my recessed lights throughout my condo. He is professional, quick, clean and has great attention to detail. He was willing to do the task of running an ethernet cable from one end of my condo to the other without charge, but I had to pay something for that! Great work.”

“Wow! Spase is great. He knows what he is doing. We bought a new home that didn’t have any lights on the ceiling and he came and installed ceiling fans with lights. His work was neat and he didn’t add holes all over the place. We also had a family room which again had no lights and he installed recessed lighting that looks great! We added extra things and he did them with no problem. We would definitely hire him again. Great guy, great pricing! Don’t hesitate, hire him now.”

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How is a recessed lighting layout planned?
We look at the room's size, ceiling height and shape, how each part of the room is used, the fixtures already there, and where natural light comes from. Lights are then placed to cover the areas that need them, such as a kitchen island or a seating area, instead of following a fixed pattern.
How far apart should recessed lights be?
There isn't one spacing that works for every room. Spacing depends on ceiling height, the size and beam spread of the fixtures, and how much light the space needs. Closer spacing gives brighter, more even coverage, while wider spacing suits softer or accent lighting. We work out the spacing for your room as part of the layout.
Should I choose 4-inch or 6-inch recessed lights?
Both are common. Smaller 4-inch fixtures have a lower-profile look and are often used for focused or accent lighting, while 6-inch fixtures spread light more widely and are often used for general room lighting. The right size depends on the room, the ceiling height, and the look you want, and some rooms use both.
Can recessed lighting be installed in a room with no existing ceiling lights?
Yes. Recessed lighting can be added to rooms that currently have no ceiling lighting. We can plan a new layout based on the room, ceiling, and how you want the space to be lit.
Can recessed lighting be installed on a vaulted, cove, or coffered ceiling?
Yes. Recessed lighting can be installed in many different ceiling types. The layout and placement are planned around the shape and height of the ceiling so the finished lighting works naturally with the room.
Do you install chandeliers and other interior light fixtures?
Yes. Art Power installs chandeliers and interior light fixtures. They can be installed on their own or planned together with recessed lighting, so the fixtures and recessed lights work together rather than competing with one another.
How many recessed lights do I need for a room?
It depends on the room's size, ceiling height, layout, natural light, and how you use the space. We'll help determine the number and placement of lights instead of using the same layout for every room.
